Irvington Housing Workshop

Barry Miller was retained by the City of Fremont to co-facilitate a community workshop with residents and business owners in the Irvington District. Community members had expressed concern about the concentration of new affordable housing developments in the area and requested a public forum to discuss these issues.

Barry served as the subject matter expert and principal presenter, working alongside the firm Plan to Place, which facilitated the meeting. Convened in January 2019, the workshop drew significant public interest. Barry was responsible for developing background materials and research, preparing and delivering the presentation, and responding to public questions. Despite the sensitive and emotionally charged nature of the topic, the workshop created a constructive environment for dialogue, learning, and identifying a path forward.
