Following completion of his work on the San Leandro General Plan, Barry was retained by the City to prepare a variety of municipal code amendments. The goal of these amendments was to bring the zoning code and map into compliance with the General Plan. Barry prepared development standards, use tables, and maps for a new “Industrial Transition” zone, and facilitated meetings with property owners and developers prior to Planning Commission and City Council hearings. Barry was also tasked with drafting new Accessory Dwelling Unit regulations, including preparing staff reports and presentations, and handling the item at Commission and Council meetings.
